THANK YOU!
Thank you for registering for the study and linking your Strava account.
What to expect next:
Strava Athlete ID Survey
Very soon you will receive an email with instructions on how to look up your Strava Athlete ID, which will help us link your training data on Strava with your health data collected through the online surveys.
If you don’t receive the Strava Athlete ID survey email within 5 minutes of completing registration, check your spam folder and email RHC@hsc.utah.edu if you can’t find it.
Baseline Survey
16 weeks before the race (or as soon as you submit your Strava Athlete ID if the race is within 16 weeks), you will be emailed a link to the baseline survey.
Expect this survey to take around 10 minutes to complete about your running/training experience, training plan, race goals, and overall health.
Biweekly Health Surveys
Every other week before the race (starting 14 weeks in advance), you will be emailed a link to a biweekly health survey to complete.
Unlike the baseline survey, these health surveys are very brief – expect about 3 minutes to complete.
You’ll receive automated reminders each day if you haven’t completed it.
Tracking Your Training on Strava
Download the Strava app to your smartphone through Apple Store or Google Play.
Select your preferred activity privacy setting – it does not need to be set to public.
Log all of your runs/training sessions on Strava one of three ways:
Record the activity using the Strava App
Record the activity with a GPS watch and sync it with Strava
Manually log the activity on the Strava app or website
Remember that you don't have to log every form of exercise that you do – just the activity that corresponds with how you will be participating in the race (e.g., log runs if participating in the race by running, and log handcycle rides if participating in the race by handcycle).
You are welcome to log any other activities on Strava.
Additional instructions for logging activities or syncing with a GPS watch can be found on Strava Support.
If at any point your plans change about the race (for example, you defer your registration until next year because you get injured or something comes up that conflicts with the race), you will report this on a biweekly health survey after which time you will be unenrolled from the study.
If any questions or concerns come up, don’t hesitate to reach out to the study team by emailing RHC@hsc.utah.edu.
