Camphor also known as kapur in our Indian household is mainly used for the purpose of puja or kept in woollen clothes to keep cloth moths away. Camphor is extracted from the Cinnamomum camphora tree which is mainly grown in Vietnam, China and Japan. The camphor trees can reach a height of over 100ft and only trees above the age of 50 years can produce oil which can be extracted from each and every part of the tree.
Camphor is ideally known for its therapeutic qualities and has been used for centuries. It has a lingering and distinct fragrance. The use of camphor for its medicinal properties is dated back in 600 AD. It has been used since then to treat many skin conditions and scalp related problems.

How to use: For cramps, you must heat sesame oil and then mix it with crushed camphor. Massage the ointment into your joints.
7. Treat coughs and colds
